CBI latest absence survey in 2011 reported that the UK economy lost 190 million working days to absence. The 190 million days cost employers £17billion.
In our experience, 81% of absence episodes are 7 days or less. Our occupational partners tell us that clinical intervention is ineffective in reducing the length of these absences.
So 81% of absence management is about Managers & how they manage absence.
